Blessed Thistle / Holy Thistle
Cnicus benedictus
Cnicin and polyacetylenes from Blessed Thistle show anti-tumour activity against colon, breast, and cervical cancer cells. It is a key ingredient in both Essiac Tea and Hoxsey herbal formula — the two most widely used traditional cancer herbal formulas. Blessed thistle stimulates bile production, supporting digestion and liver detoxification during treatment.
