Black Seed / Nigella
Nigella sativa
Thymoquinone (TQ) from Nigella sativa inhibits NF-κB, induces apoptosis, reduces angiogenesis, and sensitises cancer cells to chemotherapy and radiotherapy in colon, breast, pancreatic, and lung cancers. Black seed oil also shows hepatoprotective effects critical for patients on chemotherapy.

Recommended Dosage
2–5 ml (1/2–1 tsp) cold-pressed black seed oil twice daily, or 500–2000 mg thymoquinone extract daily.
Preparations
Black Seed Oil
1 tsp cold-pressed oil with honey twice daily, or in warm water with lemon.
Whole Black Seeds
1–2 tsp whole seeds chewed or added to bread, yoghurt, or soups daily.

Cautions & Interactions
- May interact with blood-thinning medications significantly
- Can lower blood pressure and blood sugar
- Stop 2 weeks before surgery
- Large amounts may have abortifacient effects — avoid in pregnancy
