Dandelion Root
Taraxacum officinale
Dandelion root extract induces apoptosis in colon, liver, and pancreatic cancer cells while leaving healthy cells largely unaffected. A small clinical study found dandelion root extract induced apoptosis in human chronic monocytic leukemia cells. The leaves powerfully support liver and kidney detoxification.

Preparations
Dandelion Root Tea
Simmer 1–2 tsp dried root in 2 cups water for 10–15 min. Drink 2–3 cups daily.

Fresh young leaves in salads. Rich in beta-carotene, vitamin K, and antioxidants.

Cautions & Interactions
- Increases bile flow — avoid in bile duct obstruction or gallstones
- Diuretic effect may interact with diuretic medications
- May cause allergy in daisy family-sensitive people
- May lower blood sugar — monitor in diabetics
