Boswellia / Frankincense
Boswellia serrata / Boswellia sacra
AKBA (acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid) is one of the most potent natural inhibitors of the 5-LOX inflammatory pathway. A clinical trial found boswellia significantly reduced cerebral oedema in brain tumour patients. It inhibits angiogenesis, induces apoptosis, and enhances sensitivity to radiotherapy in colon, breast, and prostate cancers.
